Smoking lounge Miami airport

Miami International Airport (MIA) has strict smoking regulations in line with the Florida Clean Indoor Air Act, prohibiting smoking in most indoor areas, including e-cigarettes. However, there are designated spots for travelers who wish to smoke. Below is your guide to smoking options at MIA.
Indoor Smoking Lounge
TGI Friday’s Smoking Lounge (North Terminal, Concourse D, near Gate D36)
Located in the North Terminal, this open-air atrium attached to TGI Friday’s is the only indoor smoking facility at MIA. It features a full bar, seating for about 60, and the restaurant’s full menu. Open daily from 6 a.m. to 10 p.m., it’s accessible post-security for passengers in Concourse D or E (connected without re-clearing security). Cigars are permitted, and ventilation keeps the space comfortable. Note: A purchase may be expected, and tipping is appreciated if you don’t order.
Outdoor Smoking Areas
Smoking is allowed outside the terminals at least 20 feet from entrances and exits:
Level 1 (Arrivals): Across the street from Concourses D, E, F, H, and J.
Level 2 (Departures): Across from the same concourses.
These areas are pre-security, so plan extra time to re-clear security if you exit.
- Accessing the TGI Friday’s Lounge: If you’re in another terminal (Central or South), you’ll need to clear security to reach Concourse D, which may not be feasible for tight connections.
- Lounge Restrictions: None of MIA’s VIP lounges (e.g., Delta Sky Club, Admirals Club, or LATAM VIP Lounge) allow smoking.
- Alternatives: Consider nicotine patches or gum, available at airport pharmacies, for a smoke-free option during your travels.
